over the weekend wedding bells

you guys, i love weddings. and on friday i got to witness chris and emily join their lives together in holy matrimony. it was held in chris’s coffee shop, pour jon’s. the ceremony was short and sweet, but very reflective of the couple. then we hung out, ate and drank and listened to amazing blue grass music from our favorite local band, the sons of otis malone. in lieu of a guest book, we all got to sign the walls of the shop and let our well-wishes carry on even into the community.

i think it’s such an honor to be a part of the beginning of a new family like this. the acknowledgment of their love for each other, our love for them, and the commitment to support them and their future. my marriage is very important to me and has grown even more so in the last couple years. i’ve seen how life can erode relationships and, if you’re not careful, cause marriages to crumble. each wedding i’ve been to this year, it’s just solidified in my mind that i want to celebrate the love that i have and the love i see in others. because love is a pretty great thing. and celebrate, we will.

sunday i got to host a bridal shower for my dear friend emily. she loves daisies, music, food and coffee. and she’s marrying a dude who owns the local coffee and vinyl shop in town. so yeah, kinda the perfect match, right? we had the party in the upstairs room at the shop and all us girls showered emily with pretty panties and fresh creams and lotions. she may or may not have blushed the whole afternoon. it was such a fun day. i love Love and weddings and parties and getting to be a part of this special time with emily was a true honor. and isn’t she so adorable in that floral crown?!?!?

saturday evening, we attended the wedding of some dear friends. it was the most glorious fall day and the scenery was a magnificent backdrop to such a romantic occasion. the bride’s dress was custom made in the philippines (where she is from) with stunning details. and it was even cooler that she wore midi boots with knee high crochet socks because she basically rules. the ceremony was short but very sweet and i may or may not have gotten super teary-eyed. ugh, i love weddings.

it was a wonderful evening and a great reminder to keep your loves close, both friends and lovers. it’s so easy to let those things fall to the side and not give them the proper care and attention. what is this life without love? even our best efforts are as a resounding gong or clanging cymbal if we don’t do them with love. so celebrate it and protect it. love is the greatest.

over the weekend, vol 6

let’s begin by reflecting on how freakin’ handsome the men in my life are………

done? ok. but really though. they are good looking dudes.

this weekend we attended the wedding of some friends. we had this big group that we called the posse and andrew and tracie were two of only three single people. we had get togethers and parties and all the while they were secretly dating! finally they came clean to all of us, and as the saying goes, the rest is history. the ceremony was lovely (i forgot my phone or there might have been documentation of that) and the reception was awesome. open bar, great food, and dancing. what could possibly be better than that? oh yeah, the celebration of two great people merging their lives together forever. you know, that stuff.

and then on sunday, my sweet boy had his first turn at being an acolyte at church. geeeeeeeeze, what a cute kid. he was so good at it too. it was a pretty proud mom moment for me.

plus the patriots won on sunday night football. yay!!!!!!
