we made dinner last night

last night we dined on a provencal stew. the real star of this dish was the red snapper. oh man. super fresh and light and flaky. and while the stew was good, we especially loved the artichoke in it, it just lacked the depth of flavor most of our cooking night dishes have had. plus it was very involved. so much chopping and steaming and boiling and sautéing. sheesh! this meal took forever and the payoff wasn’t quite what we had hoped. so overall we gave this dish a 3 star. and maybe if we made it in the spring, when you expect to eat lighter, it would have made a better impression. but the bar was set pretty high last week and this one fell a bit short. oh but that snapper though………
