and it was soooooooooooo good. i don’t typically eat italian sausage, or really any sausage of any kind, but this was just the most comforting meal on a cold december night. the sauce was super flavorful which balanced out the relative blandness of the polenta quite nicely. we couldn’t find any broccoli rabe at our local market so we subbed in mustard greens with great success. it still held it’s earthy quality even amidst the spicy sausage and tomato. and the merlot we paired this dish with was spot on. and to make it better, we enjoyed our meal listening to the sounds of a charlie brown christmas. cooking nights are my favorite.
