thirty-four, dirty whore: po-tay-to, po-tah-to. the mainest reason we spent the weekend in kansas city was to celebrate my birthday last sunday. it was kind of amazing.
just like every best day ever, it started with breakfast in bed and mimosas. our hotel had a pretty sweet buffet in the lobby with made to order omelets for free .99 and matt brought ours up to the room so we could enjoy them privately (wink wink).
when we ventured out for the day, we drove to the kemper museum for lunch. after i ate the yummiest warm spinach salad with roasted sweet potatoes and a perfectly poached egg, we walked around the exhibits. my favorite piece was the installation of used soaps in tiny tins.
the afternoon was basic gloriousness, so we sat out on a downtown patio and had happy hour drinks and soaked up the day.
for dinner, we went to the majestic and i ate filet mignon. we had a random lady take our picture but she did such an abysmal job at it that i immediately deleted it from my phone. why can’t we ever take photos together??
but my wonderful birthday ended with chocolate and sunday night football. so, yes, it was the very best day.
